First thing was first for TRHSC (TheRedHeadedStepChild).... Clean and gut the FREAK out of it.
This car was a little more than disgusting when we first brought it home. As said in the earlier post, we ended up picking the car up from an impound lot for a very decent deal. However, they towed the car from the previous owner with every possession still in the car from that owner.
We pulled out a shoe, homework, personal items and whole list of s**t we wont go into detail on.
Our main long term goal for the car was to be a track car, so we had no intention of keeping any interior pieces in the car besides the dashboard and front seats. So we started ripping everything out.....in the rain. It was actually alot of fun because we would rip out a part, look at each other, then throw it right out on the ground as if we didnt care at all. It probably took us about 40 minutes, and we had the whole interior completely out of the car.
Now the hard part, vacuuming and cleaning everything that was under the carpet (which was just as gross).
At this point, we were on top of the world. With only one seat (driver), we both couldnt wait to get it out on the street to show it off!

thehistorybehindthecivics:
FYI, this is going to be a "multiple" car blog that is going to take a few posts to fully update.
Our world of cars has taken a real spin this year, all for the better as we currently think...
First off, I sold the Subaru :(
May have been one of the hardest things I have decided to do, but the person that car turned me into and the money spent to have the car was too high. (not that I couldnt have done it)
I just wanted a car that I really didnt obsess myself over that I had to really spend on.
Part 1:
Preston and I had been talking for a while that we wanted to get a cheap car to build up and potentially race. This was talked about for over a 6 month period while the decision to sell my STi was off and on.
Then magically, one rainy day we come across a red 1995 Honda Civic hatchback on KSL.com. I called the name on the add to find out it was an impound lot down town in SLC. We both left work on our lunch, and ended up coming back with it!
So at this point, we had the STi, Prelude and the "new" civic hatchback.

More to come.....
